Increase NVIDIA Shader Cache Size

By default, NVIDIA's shader cache size is quite small. When the cache is too limited, shaders have to be recompiled more often, causing shader compilation stutter, micro-freezes when loading new areas or effects, and inconsistent frametimes. Increasing the shader cache size gives the GPU more room to store compiled shaders, which helps reduce stutters and improve smoothness over time.

This solution is safe and can be easily reversed if needed.
0 of 7 steps done
  1. Open NVIDIA Control Panel: Right-click on your desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel, or search for it from the Start menu
  2. Go to Manage 3D Settings in the left sidebar, then select the Global Settings tab
  3. Find Shader Cache Size option by scrolling down the list of settings
  4. Click the dropdown next to Shader Cache Size and change it from default to 10 GB or Unlimited
  5. Click Apply at the bottom-right of the NVIDIA Control Panel
  6. Restart the game so it can start using the new shader cache size
  7. Play for a while and see if shader-related stuttering is reduced

NVIDIA only - AMD handles shader caching automatically. Tip: 10 GB is usually enough for most users, while Unlimited is for those who don't mind using more disk space.
