Disable Core Isolation / VBS
Core Isolation (often tied to VBS – Virtualization-Based Security) is a Windows security feature that uses virtualization to protect your system. Memory integrity (HVCI) can add overhead and reduce performance in some games—especially on CPU-limited systems. Turning it off can improve FPS and frame-time consistency, reduce micro-stutters in CPU-heavy games, and lower virtualization overhead.
This solution is safe and can be easily reversed if needed.

- Open Windows Security: Press Start and type Windows Security, then open it
- Go to Core Isolation settings: Click Device security, then click Core isolation details
- Turn off Memory integrity: Toggle Memory integrity to OFF
- Restart your PC to apply the change
- Test your game: Launch your game and check FPS stability, stuttering, and input feel
- To undo: Go back to Windows Security > Device security > Core isolation details, toggle Memory integrity ON, restart PC
Disabling this can improve performance but reduces security somewhat. If you don't see Core isolation or Memory integrity, it may be hidden by policy, unsupported on your hardware, or managed by your organization. Microsoft admits this feature can reduce performance by 5-25% in some scenarios.
